Fort Union Historic Trading Post
Explore the reconstructed Fort Union Trading Post which dominated the fur trade on the upper Missouri River from 1828 to 1867 for John Jacob Astor’s American Fur Company. The fort was a place for peaceful trade with the Assiniboine, Cree, Crow, Blackfeet, Ojibwe, Hidatsa, Mandan, Arikara and Sioux tribes. While here, don’t forget to take a selfie at the state line marker between the parking areas!
